Doha, Qatar, October 10, 2025: The South Kanara Muslim Welfare Association (SKMWA) Qatar successfully hosted the 6th Peace Trophy Kabaddi Tournament 2025 at the Aspire Ladies Hall, uniting teams, players, and supporters from across Qatar for a thrilling day of sportsmanship, teamwork, and community bonding.
The tournament showcased the vibrant spirit of unity and healthy competition, with five teams — SKMWA Qatar, Tulukoota Qatar, Maisarakar, Markhiya Al Fifa, and Sanskrit Qatar — competing in twelve action-packed matches that included league rounds, semi-finals, and the grand finale.
A Grand Opening with Unity and Faith
The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Master Arhaan Anshar, followed by a welcome address by Mr Imran Ahmed Bava, President of SKMWA Qatar.
General Secretary Mr Rasheed Bambila led the oath-taking ceremony, underscoring the importance of fairness, unity, and sportsmanship. The tournament was officially inaugurated by past presidents and senior members of SKMWA, along with Tulukoota Qatar’s President, symbolising collaboration between community organisations.
Energetic Anchoring and Professional Coordination
The event was dynamically compered by Mr Saleem Ali, who served as Master of Ceremony, ensuring a lively and engaging flow of activities throughout the day. Adding further excitement, renowned Mangaluru-based sports host Mr Diwakar delivered vibrant commentary, keeping the audience immersed in every match.
Referees Mr Ratheesh Thokkottu and Mr Aris Kalpane upheld the highest standards of fairness, supported by Mr Anil and Mr Ramana, whose dedication ensured the tournament’s smooth execution.
Honouring Contributions and Cherishing Community Bonds
A felicitation ceremony was held to honour Mr Ibrahim Beary and Mr C.K. Firoz for their outstanding contributions to SKMWA and its community initiatives.
The evening also featured distinguished guests, including ICC President Mr Manikantan, ISC President Mr Abdul Rahman, and ICBF President Mr Shanawaz Bawa, who joined in celebrating the enduring spirit of brotherhood among Qatar’s Indian community.
In a touching moment, Mr Rasheed Kakkinje delivered a tribute to the late Hajji Mohammed Kunhi, recognising his lifetime of service and selfless dedication to the association and the broader community.
Championship Glory and Closing Ceremony
After a series of closely contested matches, Tulukoota Qatar emerged as the Champion, while SKMWA Qatar claimed the Runner-up position.
In his closing remarks, Mr Rasheed Bambila expressed heartfelt gratitude to all players, sponsors, and volunteers for their tireless efforts and unwavering enthusiasm. President Mr Imran Ahmed Bava congratulated all participating teams, commending their unity, discipline, and commitment to the values of peace and teamwork.
