Mangaluru: As the solemn Annual Feast of St Anthony of Padua is within sight, the Tredicina, a 13-day long novena, to the popular saint began on May 31, 2024, in Milagres Church.
Rev. Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, Parish Priest, Milagres Church inaugurated the Tredicina by celebrating the first day Novena Mass along with Rev. Fr J B Crasta, Director, St Anthony Charitable Institutions, Jeppu, and Rev. Fr Avinash Pais, Assistant Director of the ashram.
On the first day of the Novena, Mass was celebrated by Fr Bonaventure Nazareth for the intentions of all women. He preached on the theme “Prayer and visits deepen our connection with God and our neighbors.”
Hundreds of devotees participated in the devotion.
The 13-day Novena in preparation for the annual feast of St Anthony will go up to June 12.
Daily Novena Masses will be held at 6 AM and 11:30 AM at St Anthony Ashram in Jeppu. Lunch will be provided to all devotees.
Most Rev. Dr Francis Serrao, Bishop of Shimoga, and Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore will be the main celebrants for the main festive Holy Mass on June 13, 2024 at Jeppu Ashram and Milagres Church respectively.
