Dubai: Demonstrating its commitment to community service and humanitarian causes, United Loretto Friends (ULF), Dubai, successfully organised its fourth blood donation drive in collaboration with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and in association with KLM Group. Held on July 12 under the guidance of Mr. Balakrishna Salian, the initiative witnessed an overwhelming response, with 112 successful blood donations from 126 participants.
The blood donation drive reflected the spirit of unity, compassion, and social responsibility among volunteers, donors, and supporters. The organisers acknowledged the valuable support extended by KLM Group, which contributed significantly to the smooth execution of the event.
Donors and supporters felicitated
The felicitation ceremony was compered by Ms. Preethi Seema D’Souza.
During the programme, Mr. Balakrishna Salian was honoured for his dedicated guidance and continued support in organising the blood donation initiative. KLM Group, represented by Mr. Khushel D’Souza and Mrs. Leena D’Souza, was also felicitated in recognition of the company’s valuable association and support.
A special recognition was accorded to Mr. Floyd Kiran Moras, a member of ULF, for donating blood for the 44th time, acknowledging his remarkable commitment to voluntary blood donation and humanitarian service.
Commitment to community welfare
ULF President Mr. Donald Noronha, along with the executive committee and members, expressed gratitude to the Dubai Health Authority, KLM Group, volunteers, supporters, and every donor whose selfless contribution made the fourth edition of the blood donation drive a success.
As a token of appreciation, all successful donors were presented with certificates and refreshments in recognition of their life-saving contribution and to encourage continued participation in future blood donation initiatives.
The organisers said the programme reaffirmed ULF’s mission of “Unity & Service”, bringing the community together through meaningful social initiatives while promoting the importance of voluntary blood donation and community welfare.
Through such humanitarian efforts, United Loretto Friends continues to inspire greater public participation in blood donation and strengthen community bonds across the UAE.
