Contraband Recovery Operation at Kalaburgi Central Prison
During a recent search at Kalaburgi Central Prison, authorities discovered a smartphone, a basic mobile device, and various contraband items. Police Commissioner Sharanappa SD reported that four individuals were taken into custody for further investigation.
The Commissioner confirmed that the inquiry revealed an inmate who was receiving these items and stated that the individual would also be apprehended. Preliminary investigations indicated that criminal elements were tossing contraband into the prison premises, leading to the resolution of two past cases—one from 2022 involving three mobile devices and another this year with a phone and eight packets of ganja.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter to ensure prison security.
