The CEN police have successfully apprehended a man who had been absconding for four years following his involvement in a ganja sale case. The accused, identified as Mohammed Saleem, also known as Saleem (38), a resident of TC Road in Ullal Olapete, had managed to evade law enforcement since his initial arrest in 2019.

Saleem was first arrested in connection with a case involving the illegal sale of ganja. However, after securing bail, he continuously avoided court appearances and managed to evade further legal proceedings. His disappearance led to him being declared a fugitive, and a search was launched to track him down.

The CEN police, acting on specific intelligence, were finally able to locate and detain Saleem. His arrest comes as a significant step in closing the long-standing case, which had been delayed due to his evasion of justice.

Authorities are now working to ensure that Saleem faces the appropriate legal consequences for both his involvement in the drug case and his extended absence from court. The case has once again highlighted the challenges law enforcement faces in tracking individuals who abscond after receiving bail.
