An advocate, Kalyan Vanshikar, was attacked and robbed while taking his morning walk with his pet near I Max on Tuesday. The incident occurred when the 48-year-old resident of Khairatabad, who was on his usual morning stroll, was approached by two individuals riding a black scooter. They initially struck up a conversation, asking about his pet dog.
However, during their interaction, one of the suspects suddenly drew a knife and demanded that Vanshikar hand over his mobile phone. As the advocate resisted, a struggle ensued, and the assailants stabbed him in his ribs and left hand. Despite the injuries, the suspects managed to take the mobile phone and flee the scene.
According to the police, the suspects sped off towards Necklace Road. Authorities have initiated a robbery case and are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the area and nearby routes to identify the culprits. Meanwhile, Vanshikar was rushed to a private hospital for treatment, where his condition is reported to be stable and out of danger.
The Khairatabad police station has launched an investigation into the incident.
