Late on Sunday night, Bengaluru police arrested 24-year-old choreographer M Mukeshwaran for the sexual assault of a 21-year-old student. The incident occurred after Mukeshwaran agreed to drop the student home on his scooter past midnight on Saturday.

  • Victim: 21-year-old student
  • Incident: Mukeshwaran, who had been partying with friends and was looking for a shop to buy cigarettes, took advantage of the student’s vulnerability. He diverted his scooter to a secluded area and assaulted her after she flagged him down for a ride.
  • Accused’s Statement: Mukeshwaran reportedly noted that the student appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and unfamiliar with the area. He allegedly decided to exploit the situation, claiming he was going in the same direction as Chandapura.
  • Aftermath: The student activated the SOS feature on her phone, alerting her friends. Upon their arrival, Mukeshwaran fled the scene on his scooter.

Mukeshwaran was apprehended after police arrived at his residence past midnight on Sunday, where he was found asleep with his family.
