A troubling incident occurred on Sarjapur Road in Bengaluru, where a biker harassed a couple inside their car and smashed its glass. The disturbing event was captured on video and has since gone viral, prompting a strong response from the Bengaluru police.
The video, shared by the community X handle Citizens Movement, shows a man on a bike confronting a car near 1522 Pub on Sarjapur Road. When the car driver refused to roll down the window, the biker began attacking the vehicle, despite the driver pleading for leniency due to the presence of a child inside.
The situation escalated as the biker aggressively broke the car’s front glass using the wiper. The woman inside the car was heard screaming for help, while security guards and bystanders intervened to stop the assailant. The couple managed to reach the police station after the incident.
Citizens Movement’s X post urged for immediate action, highlighting the incident at 10:30 PM on Street 1522, Doddakannelli Junction. The post stressed the need for increased police presence and patrols in the area.
Residents voiced their frustration online, citing that such harassment is becoming common in Sarjapur. One user recounted a similar experience and called for better policing, while another suggested that increased patrolling could prevent these violent occurrences.
The Bengaluru police have advised residents to call 112 in emergency situations to ensure timely assistance.
