Legal Action Taken
A police case has been lodged at Ullal police station against a bank manager, broker, civil contractor, and an accomplice under various sections, including Sections 341, 447, 323, 504, 506, 420, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
Alleged Perpetrators
The case implicates nationalized bank manager Pavan Kumar, broker Gururaj, civil contractor Jagadish, and his accomplice Jayaprakash J P, all allegedly involved in the deceitful scheme.
Modus Operandi Unveiled
In 2022, the bank manager, posing as a broker and civil contractor, facilitated the sale of land for layout development. However, subsequent events revealed substandard and incomplete work, leading to confrontation and alleged threats from the accused.
Legal Ramifications
The altercation escalated on January 11, resulting in physical violence and intimidation tactics against workers at the layout. Consequently, a case was registered against Pavan Kumar and three others (Crime No. 98/2024). Following investigations, Pavan Kumar has been transferred to Karwar.
