Mangaluru: A violent clash at Thumbe Junction in Bantwal on Sunday resulted in three individuals sustaining stab injuries. According to the complaint filed by Harish Poojary, he encountered a group of individuals, including Pradeep, Pushparaj Altheoor, Sharan Kaikamba, Vasanth Kamaje, Rakesh, and Ashwath, while leaving Thumbe Junction. The group allegedly waylaid him and subjected him to verbal abuse.

When Harish protested, the situation escalated, and he was reportedly assaulted by the group members, who were known to him. Hearing his cries for help, Keerthan, Prathviraj, and Vineeth came to his aid. However, the accused turned their aggression toward them as well. During the altercation, Ashwath reportedly stabbed Vineeth, and Sharan was accused of stabbing Prathviraj.

Upon seeing a crowd gathering, the assailants fled the scene. Vineeth and Prathviraj, both in serious condition, were transferred to a higher medical facility for further treatment, while Harish received care at the government hospital in Bantwal. The Bantwal Town police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
