Crimes Resurface on Mysuru-Bengaluru Highway: Family Escapes Robbery Near Mandya
Mysuru: After a four-month hiatus, criminal activities have resurfaced on the Mysuru-Bengaluru National Highway-275, particularly targeting travelers during nighttime. Despite assurances of enhanced security measures, including 24×7 patrols and AI-powered cameras, recent incidents reveal ongoing safety concerns.
In a recent attack, a Mysuru family narrowly escaped a robbery attempt near Mandya on the night of September 12-13. The incident involved two miscreants who threw an object at the family’s car, shattering the window and causing panic. The family, including K.C. Krishnegowda, his wife H.M. Sudha, their son K. Rohit, and their driver, were traveling in their Maruti car when the attack occurred.
Krishnegowda, aware of previous highway incidents, instructed the driver to speed away, avoiding a potential robbery. The family aimed to reach the Gananguru Toll Plaza to report the attack but found no police presence. They continued their journey to Mysuru, fearful but unharmed.
This attack follows a similar robbery incident in April, highlighting persistent safety issues on this highway stretch. Despite improvements, the recurrence of such crimes underscores the need for more effective measures to protect commuters.
