A brazen daylight burglary has left the residents of Brahmagudi Road near Hanglur in shock after thieves broke into a house between 2 pm and 4 pm on Thursday, October 24. The culprits targeted the residence of Jagadish Chandra Nair, originally from Kerala, stealing valuables worth several lakhs, including gold and cash.

According to reports, Jagadish and his wife, both employees at a local printing press, had left for work after lunch. Upon returning around 4 pm with their daughter, they discovered the back door had been smashed open, indicating a forced entry. Initial assessments reveal that approximately Rs 60,000 in cash was stolen from the home, while the exact amount of gold taken will be confirmed following an evaluation by a forensic team.

Despite the proximity of other houses, the audacity of the theft has raised alarm among locals. With a recent uptick in thefts in the Kundapur area, residents are urging the police to enhance their efforts to apprehend the culprits. A case has been registered at the Kundapur police station, and an investigation is underway.
