Fake Delivery Agent Attempts iPhone 15 Scam in Bengaluru, Caught on Camera
A resident in Bengaluru recently shared a disturbing experience on Reddit, claiming that a man posing as a Flipkart delivery agent attempted to scam him during the delivery of an iPhone 15. According to the post, the resident’s sister had ordered an iPhone 15 with 256GB storage and opted for the “open box” delivery service, which allows customers to inspect high-value products before accepting them. However, the fake delivery agent, dressed in a white t-shirt, allegedly pressured the resident to accept a large package without inspecting its contents.
Suspicious of the man’s behavior, the resident began recording the interaction. The fake delivery agent, realizing he was being recorded, quickly fled the scene. Minutes later, the legitimate Flipkart delivery agent arrived with the correct iPhone 15 and completed the open-box procedure.
The incident, which has garnered hundreds of views on Reddit, raised concerns among users about the trustworthiness of online marketplaces. Some commenters speculated that the legitimate delivery agent might have been involved in the scam, urging the resident to report the incident to Flipkart with the video evidence. The post has sparked a broader conversation about safety and transparency in e-commerce deliveries, with many users recounting similar experiences of scams during delivery.
