In Kalaburagi, five individuals have been arrested for allegedly torturing a 14-year-old boy named Abhishek from Dubai Colony. The incident occurred on Friday when Abhishek was accused of stealing money from a house.

According to reports, while Abhishek was on his way to school, Shrishail, a resident of Dubai Colony, forcibly took him to his home. There, Shrishail and his associates—Shivakumar, Jagannath, Saibanna, and Mallik—burned the boy’s hands and feet with cigarettes while interrogating him about the alleged theft. They coerced him into confessing to the crime, subjecting him to hours of physical abuse.

Abhishek’s parents, who are employed in Hyderabad, traveled to Kalaburagi upon learning of the incident. The boy told his parents that he had not stolen the money and that the torture lasted for three to four hours, during which he screamed in vain for help as neighbors ignored his pleas.

An FIR has been filed against the five accused at Chowk police station by Abhishek’s parents. The case has drawn significant attention and raises concerns about community response and the safety of minors in such situations.
