Anuradha Karkera, who had been evading arrest for seven years in a property dispute case, was apprehended by Kaup police in Mumbai. The dispute, which began in 2012 among relatives in Muloor, led to a legal case filed by Anuradha’s sister, Neeta. Anuradha attended court regularly until 2017, after which she went into hiding.

On August 18, following orders from the Second ACJ and JMFC Court of Udupi, Kaup ASI Ravish Holla, along with head constables Mohammed Rafiq and Sulochana, arrested Anuradha in Sion, Mumbai. She was subsequently produced in court, fined Rs 15,000, and granted bail with the condition to appear in court on August 21.

The case has drawn attention due to the long period Anuradha spent absconding and the ongoing legal battle over the property dispute.
