
Haveri Police Solve Ballot Box Theft, Arrest Five Suspects
Haveri District Police have arrested five individuals in connection with the theft of 27 old iron ballot boxes from the APMC warehouse on Guttal Road. The incident occurred between November 12 and November 14 and was reported by revenue officer Syed Nadimuddin from the Haveri Tahsildar’s office.
Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Anshu Kumar, investigators swiftly identified and apprehended the accused: Santosh, Ganesh, Mutrappa, Krishna, and Mohammed Javed, all residents of Haveri. The police also recovered the stolen ballot boxes and seized an auto-rickshaw (KA20 C 973) suspected to have been used in the crime.
Deputy Commissioner Vijayamahantesh B. Danammanavar lauded the police for their prompt response and efficient handling of the case, praising the dedication of the officers and personnel involved.
The swift action has ensured the recovery of the stolen items, demonstrating the efficiency and vigilance of the district police force.
