BENGALURU (Karnataka) [India], October 22 (ANI): The Karnataka High Court has adjourned the bail application hearing for actor Darshan Thoogudeepa until October 28. The hearing was presided over by Justice Vishwajit Shetty on Tuesday. Darshan’s lawyer, BV Nagesh, argued that the actor is experiencing severe back pain and requires urgent surgery, requesting that bail be granted on medical grounds.

Nagesh emphasized the necessity for immediate medical attention, urging the court to expedite the bail process. In response, Justice Shetty instructed the lawyer to submit the relevant medical reports before the next hearing. Darshan had approached the Karnataka High Court for bail after a trial court denied his request.

The actor is implicated in the Renukaswamy murder case, concerning the death of a 33-year-old resident from Chitradurga, whose remains were discovered in Bengaluru’s Kamakshipalya area on June 9. On October 18, Vijayalakshmi, Darshan’s wife, and family members visited him at Ballary jail following a civil court’s rejection of his bail plea on October 14.

Alongside Darshan, another accused, Pavithra Gowda, is also linked to the case. In a contrasting decision, a civil court had granted bail to another accused, Deepak. Previously, the 57th Magistrate Court in Bengaluru had postponed the bail hearing for Darshan until September 27, with Gowda’s hearing also pushed to September 25. The proceedings involve Darshan, Gowda, and 11 other individuals implicated in the murder case.
