Mangaluru: In a disturbing development, Sharath Babu, a man from Kerala, has been reported abducted in Mangaluru, according to a police complaint. Babu, who is alleged to have been involved in securing college admissions for nursing students, is accused of defrauding a client.

The complaint alleges that Babu received ₹9 lakh from an individual in Kerala, promising to secure a nursing college seat in Bengaluru for the client’s ward. Babu reportedly paid ₹2 lakh to the college but kept the remaining ₹7 lakh. The individual who paid the money is suspected to have been involved in Babu’s abduction after threatening him multiple times.

The abduction reportedly occurred on the evening of August 6 near PVS Circle in Mangaluru. Babu was reportedly with a friend when two men arrived in a car and forcibly took him away. Witnesses described a chaotic scene as Babu was quickly overpowered and pushed into the vehicle.

A case has been filed at Kadri Police Station, and authorities have launched a thorough investigation into the incident.
