Man Murders Wife Over Affair Suspicion, Fakes Innocence
BENGALURU: A 50-year-old man, Mehboob Saab, has been arrested for the murder of his wife, Mumtaz Begum, in Bagalur. Saab initially filed a false police complaint claiming his wife was murdered by an unknown person.
On August 24, Saab, suspecting his wife of an affair due to her interactions with male co-workers, lured her to a farm near their home. While she was plucking vegetables, Saab struck her head with a wooden log, causing fatal injuries. He then traveled to his sister’s house in Hoskote and returned the following morning.
On August 25, Saab reported his wife’s murder to the Bagalur police, alleging that he discovered her body with the help of three friends who found her at the farm. However, discrepancies in his story and verification of his alibi led police to question Saab further. It was discovered that no wedding had occurred at his sister’s house, and Saab could not provide details about the alleged witnesses.
Under interrogation, Saab confessed to the crime. He has been taken into custody and charged with murder.
