Mangaluru railway police recently detained a 44-year-old man, Manikanta from Dakshina Kannada, for allegedly capturing and sharing unauthorized photos of women aboard a moving train. The incident occurred when a 28-year-old journalist, traveling with her friend from Kannur to Yeshwanthpur, was alerted by co-passengers in the general compartment that Manikanta was discreetly photographing her and her friend. When confronted by passengers, he was moved to another compartment but reportedly continued taking photos of other women.

Upon inspection of his phone, passengers discovered numerous images and videos of women, many captured obscenely, which he had shared with his WhatsApp contacts. Shockingly, when confronted, the accused laughed and admitted to his actions, showing no remorse. The journalist reported that he had violated their privacy by both capturing and distributing these images without consent.

The passengers quickly informed railway and Mangaluru City police, who responded to the complaint. Police officials stated that they will disclose further details about the accused after completing the formal arrest procedures.
