The Central Crime Branch (CCB) of Mangaluru has apprehended four individuals involved in several criminal cases who had been absconding court appearances. The accused, who had warrants issued against them, have been handed over to various police stations for further legal action, including Panambur, Konaje, and Ullal police stations.

City Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal provided details on the accused:

  • Munawar Mustaq alias Munna, 40, from Farangipete, currently residing in Kudroli, was involved in cases of attempted murder, cattle theft, and drug offenses. He had been absconding since his release on bail and was handed over to Konaje police station.
  • Mohammad Rafeej alias Hafeez alias Afrid, 23, residing in Adyar, was linked to nine cases, including theft, attempted murder, and assault across Mangaluru city police commissionerate limits and Dakshina Kannada district. He has been handed over to the Ullal police station.
  • Mohammad Noufal alias Kidney Noufal, 32, a resident of Ullal taluk, was involved in six cases, including robbery, attempted murder, fraud, and drug-related offenses. He was also handed over to Ullal police station.
  • Naushad alias Bullet Naushad, from Tannirbhavi, was involved in an assault case within the Panambur police limits and has been handed over to Panambur police station.

The operation was led by ACP CCB Manoj Kumar Naik, Police Inspector Shyam Sundar H, and their CCB team.
