The probe into the murder of Rajesh, a bus conductor whose lifeless body was discovered near Indira Canteen at Hamilton Circle, is advancing swiftly. Rajesh, employed on a private bus route between Mangaluru and Vittal, was found dead with a stone placed on his chest on Monday. Initially unidentified, his body was kept at Wenlock Hospital’s mortuary until later confirmed as Rajesh, a resident of Bajpe.

Rajesh’s parents had passed away, leaving behind only his sister. Upon receiving the tragic news, his family arrived at the hospital, collected his remains, and performed the last rites.

Living in a rented room in Mangaluru, Rajesh worked as a bus conductor while also managing a side business in finance. It is unclear whether financial conflicts or other motives led to his murder. His colleagues and friends, deeply shocked, remembered him as a soft-spoken and well-liked individual.

The police, having examined CCTV footage from the State Bank area, have reportedly found a significant lead on the suspect. Investigators are considering all angles, including the possibility of financial disputes, as they continue their search for the perpetrator.

Rajesh’s murder has left his friends and acquaintances in disbelief, as they struggle to understand why someone with his gentle demeanor would be targeted.
