Sohail Pasha, a 23-year-old man from Manvi town in Raichur district, was arrested by Mumbai Police late Monday night for allegedly making a WhatsApp call to threaten Bollywood actor Salman Khan and the songwriter of his movie. The threat, which was made on November 7, demanded a ransom of Rs 5 crore in exchange for sparing their lives, claiming affiliation with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

The Mumbai Police tracked the call to a phone number registered to Venkatesh Narayan, a resident of Chikalaparvi village in Manvi taluk. Narayan told police that a stranger, later identified as Sohail Pasha, had approached him on November 3 and requested to use his phone. Pasha then used Narayan’s number to install WhatsApp on his own phone, making the threat call. During questioning, Pasha admitted that his motive was to gain fame both for himself and for Salman Khan’s movie, ‘Main Sikandar Hun’.

Mumbai Police arrived in Manvi to interrogate the involved parties, and Sohail was taken into custody. He was later presented in court and remanded in police custody for two days. Sohail’s father, Rasul Pasha, expressed shock and disbelief over his son’s actions, stating that he was unaware of Sohail’s involvement in the crime.
