New data from Indeed reveals a notable 14% increase in cybersecurity job postings in India from September 2023 to September 2024, reflecting a heightened demand for experts in this critical field. Bengaluru stands out as the leader in cybersecurity job openings, accounting for nearly 10% of listings, followed by Delhi NCR at 4%, remote jobs at 2.2%, and Hyderabad at 2%. Mumbai ranks fifth with 2%.
Bengaluru’s dominance as India’s top tech hub, housing major IT companies, startups, and global firms, has driven this surge. As digital operations expand, businesses in the city are intensifying their focus on cybersecurity, creating a growing need for skilled professionals. Delhi NCR, with its corporate landscape, also sees increased demand for cybersecurity roles, particularly due to the region’s emphasis on protecting critical data and infrastructure.
Additionally, the rise of remote cybersecurity jobs offers flexibility, appealing to professionals seeking a better work-life balance while contributing to data security.
Sashi Kumar, Head of Sales at Indeed India, emphasized the importance of cybersecurity in today’s digital age, stating, “As more of our lives move online, companies are focusing on keeping data safe, which is driving the demand for cybersecurity experts.”
