Sullia police have apprehended three individuals—Sakim (29), Jameen Pasha (38), and Sarfuddin (45)—on charges of illegal cattle trafficking. Acting on a tip-off, police discovered that the trio was transporting cattle in a mini truck from Thodikana Adyadka Colony to Aranthodu without the necessary permits.
On Monday night, Sub-Inspector Saraswati B.T. from Sullia police station, along with her team, intercepted the vehicle. Upon inspection, they found two cattle inside. The accused were unable to produce any valid documentation for the transport, leading to their arrest.
The police have seized the cattle and the vehicle, and a case has been registered against the accused under sections 5, 7, and 12 of the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Preservation Act, 2020.
