In a disturbing incident in northern Bengaluru, two adults and a minor were arrested for assaulting two pedestrians after they declined to give cigarettes. The suspects, identified as 19-year-olds Nithin and Madan, and a 16-year-old minor, confronted Akash Rathor and Vikram Rathor on August 19 around 11 am near Annapurneshwari Bakery on SSA Road.

The victims were out for a stroll when the suspects, riding a Honda Dio scooter, demanded cigarettes. When the victims refused, the suspects began abusing them and then physically attacked them. One of the suspects allegedly brandished a knife, injuring Vikram Rathor.

The victims fled to their homes and later reported the incident to the police. Following an investigation, Nithin, who works at a car showroom, and Madan, a daily wage worker from Chamundi Nagar, were arrested and sent to judicial custody. The minor suspect was presented before the juvenile justice board. All three suspects have been charged under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
