In a notable success for Tumakuru Police, a notorious thief with 32 alleged cases against him, including theft in Koratagere, has been apprehended. The accused, identified as Manjesh, was captured following a daring and dramatic pursuit led by constable Doddalingaiah.

Manjesh had recently stolen from a residence near Koratagere Town DCC Bank. Police, after reviewing CCTV footage, tracked his movements as he traveled from Koratagere to Bangalore via Dabaspet and Nelamangala.

On August 6, police received information about Manjesh’s location near Sadashivnagar traffic junction. Constable Doddalingaiah, on his bike, intercepted the accused. Despite Manjesh’s attempt to flee, Doddalingaiah’s swift actions prevented his escape. In a dramatic turn of events, the constable physically restrained Manjesh by holding his leg and dragging him approximately 20 meters, ensuring he did not get away. The arrest was further supported by Sadashivnagar Traffic Police Station’s Female Assistant Sub Inspector Nagamma, Home Guard Staff Sridhar, and local bystanders.

The bravery and quick thinking of Constable Doddalingaiah have been widely praised by senior police officials and the community. His actions have been commended as a remarkable example of police diligence and courage.
