In a landmark judgment, the Sixth Additional District and Sessions Court in Mangaluru has handed down life imprisonment to Pavur Nebisa, a 40-year-old woman, along with her paramour Jamal Ahmed and three contract killers for the murder of her husband, Ismail, in February 2016.

The case, which unfolded in the Konaje police station area, revealed a chilling plot orchestrated by Nebisa, who was Ismail’s second wife. Ismail, a resident of Pavoor Inoli Dendinje, operated vehicles on rent, while Nebisa managed household affairs. Their marriage was marred by frequent disputes, primarily stemming from Nebisa’s extramarital affair with Jamal Ahmed, a resident of Kuttarpadavu.

Frustrated with ongoing conflicts, Nebisa conspired with Jamal Ahmed and hired three contract killers—Abdul Munaf Yane Munna from BC Road, Abdul Rahman from Ullal, and Shabir Yane Shabbi from Boliyaru—for Rs. 2.50 lakh to eliminate Ismail. The plan unfolded on February 16, 2016, when the contract killers lured Ismail under the pretext of a rent-related issue, drugged him, and transported him to Shiradi Ghat near Kempuhole in Shiradi Sanctuary.

Once isolated, they fatally stabbed Ismail and concealed his body with dry leaves before discarding his blood-stained clothes and mobile phones into the Netravati river at Ullal. Nebisa attempted to cover up the crime by filing a missing person report on February 17, 2016, but suspicion arose when Ismail’s blood was found in a vehicle sent for repairs.

Investigations eventually led to Nebisa’s arrest after her stepson raised concerns about the vehicle. The court proceedings, marked by detailed forensic evidence and testimonies, culminated in the sentencing of Nebisa, Jamal Ahmed, and the three contract killers to life imprisonment.

The verdict, delivered recently, underscores the gravity of the crime and its impact on the community. It serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of domestic disputes escalating to premeditated murder, highlighting the justice system’s role in addressing such heinous acts and ensuring accountability.

The sentencing has been met with public interest and discussion, particularly concerning issues of marital discord, extramarital affairs, and the severe legal ramifications of conspiring to commit murder.
