A 35-year-old special needs teacher has been arrested for subjecting a non-verbal 20-year-old student to horrific abuse, including pinching, force-feeding chillies, and forcing unknown substances into his mouth. The shocking abuse was uncovered when the student’s father, concerned about his son’s condition, installed a CCTV camera in his room.

The victim, Abhinav Bindra, who has been struggling with speech impairment, had been under the care of Shubham Saxena, a private tutor from Shahjahanpur, for the past two years. On April 24, the father viewed footage that left him stunned — the tutor was seen inserting a pen between Abhinav’s fingers, slapping him, and forcibly administering unidentified medicines.

Based on this evidence, an FIR was filed at Sector 49 police station. The accused was booked under Sections 115(2) and 118(1) of the BNS for voluntarily causing harm, as well as under provisions of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.

Abhinav’s father told police, “My son is unable to express himself, which is why we hired Saxena—to help him learn. But instead, he tortured my child for years.”

The arrest has sparked outrage, with calls for stricter regulation and screening of private caregivers for vulnerable individuals. Authorities have assured that a thorough investigation is underway and justice will be ensured.
