Customer Finds Cockroaches in Breakfast at Hyderabad Tiffin Centre
A customer discovered cockroaches in the breakfast served at Madhuram Tiffins, located near Nexus Mall in KPHB, Hyderabad, on Friday, November 22. Distressed by the unsanitary conditions, the customer shared images and a video on X, revealing the unhygienic state of the kitchen and tagging food safety authorities for immediate action.
The incident raised concerns about food safety at this popular tiffin centre, with visuals showing the presence of cockroaches in the chutneys. In response, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) assured that a food safety team had been alerted to address the issue swiftly.
Netizens expressed outrage over the lack of cleanliness at eateries in the city. One user criticized the lack of hygiene and poor customer service, while another called for strict action and the closure of unhygienic establishments. A third user cautioned others against dining out, citing health concerns over the food’s quality.
This incident follows previous raids conducted by the Telangana Food Safety Department, which uncovered similar violations at other tiffin centres in Hyderabad. At Padmavathi Tiffins, live cockroaches, unsanitary food storage, and unhygienic kitchen conditions were found. Other establishments like Sri Sidhi Vinayaka Udupi Tiffins and Balaji Darshan also had issues such as improper pest control, water stagnation, and exposed dustbins.
