In a shocking turn of events, ten individuals have surrendered to Holalkere police in connection with the brutal murder of Kanuma Santosh Kumar, a former rowdy-sheeter from Mari Kanive, Chitradurga, who had recently moved to Davanagere.

An FIR was filed by Vidyanagar police against Karthik (22), Chavali Santu (30), Naveen (26), Gundappa (32), Basavaraj (22), Hanumantappa (23), Gidda Viji (27), Chikkammanahalli Shivu (30), Kaddi Raghu (27), Prashant (28), and Gani Nittuavalli, based on a complaint from Santosh’s wife, Shruti.

Investigators revealed that many of the accused were once close aides of Santosh. Police suspect internal betrayal, stating Santosh had failed to fulfill promises made to them. He was previously linked to murders of other rowdy-sheeters Bulla Naga and Gym Yogi, alongside his now-accused associates.

Originally from Hiriyur, Santosh had turned to horticulture and real estate, reportedly leaving behind his criminal past. According to Shruti, he had reformed his life to secure a better future for their children and had plans to contest the upcoming Zilla Panchayat elections.

Shruti has now demanded justice, asserting that her husband had given up violence and was focused on political aspirations.

Police investigations are ongoing to verify motives and connections among the accused.
