A local court in Davanagere has penalized a two-wheeler owner ₹25,000 for permitting a minor to operate the vehicle. The action followed a case filed by Davanagere South (Traffic) Police under the Indian Motor Vehicles Act.
During a routine vehicle inspection near the Clock Tower, officers intercepted a minor riding a motorcycle. The vehicle was confiscated, and its owner, Mamatha, was booked. After reviewing the case, the court upheld the charges and imposed the fine.
The crackdown was carried out under the directive of Superintendent of Police Uma Prashanth, with supervision from ASPs Vijayakumar M Santhosh and Manjunath, along with Deputy SP Sharanabasaveshwara Bheemrao. Circle Inspector Nalavagalu Manjunath led the operation, supported by Sub-Inspector Jayasheela and other officers.
Authorities have reiterated strict enforcement of traffic laws to curb such violations and enhance road safety.
