Davanagere now boasts a one-of-a-kind paying guest (PG) facility for dogs, offering food, accommodation, and care services, easing the worries of pet owners who need to travel.
Set up near Mylara Lingeshwara Temple on Budal Road, the facility is run by M. Ningaraj (24) and his friend D. Manu. Ningaraj, a dog enthusiast since age 12, has deep knowledge of canine behavior, diet, and daily routines.
A Home Away from Home for Dogs
The six-month-old guest house caters to various breeds, including:
🐶 Labrador, Golden Retriever, Doberman, Great Dane, Rottweiler, German Shepherd, Saint Bernard, Shih Tzu, Pug, Dachshund, Dalmatian, Poodle, Akita, Siberian Husky, and more.
Each dog receives specialized care based on its breed and routine. The facility also provides guidance to owners on dog behavior and needs.
Convenience for Pet Owners
“When owners have urgent travel plans, they struggle to find reliable care for their pets,” said Ningaraj. “We started this PG to provide a safe and comfortable space for dogs in their absence.”
For a reasonable fee, the facility provides:
🍖 Two nutritious meals daily (including eggs, curd, bread, rice, and chicken as per the dog’s diet).
🚶♂️ Daily walks—twice a day.
Pet parent testimonials highlight the service’s impact. “Last month, I had to travel to Bengaluru, and a friend recommended this dog PG. They took great care of my pet,” said Prashant Raikar of Bapuji Nagar.
