Bengaluru: A 65-year-old man from Davangere, who passed away on May 31 due to cardiopulmonary arrest, aspiration pneumonia in septic shock, and uncontrolled diabetes, was confirmed to be Covid-19 positive posthumously. His death marks the seventh Covid-related fatality in Karnataka this year.

According to the state health department, the patient died at the Davangere government hospital.

On Thursday, Karnataka reported 65 new Covid cases, bringing the total number of cases since January to 796. A total of 644 tests were conducted in the past 24 hours, including 566 RT-PCR tests and 78 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT).
