A young man lost his life in a tragic bike-car collision while on his way to a New Year party with a friend, shortly after midnight on Wednesday.
The victim has been identified as Karthik, a resident of Nituvalli Layout in the city.
Karthik was riding his bike with a friend late Tuesday night, heading to a New Year celebration on Nutan College Road in Vidyanagar, Davanagere. Around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, the car reportedly collided with the bike.
Karthik died at the scene, while his friend suffered serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital. The driver of the car fled the scene following the crash. The bike was severely damaged due to the force of the impact.
A case has been filed at the Vidyanagar Police Station, and officers have visited the crash site as part of their investigation.
