Bengaluru, infamous for its congestion and accidents, will enforce hefty fines for violations like drunk driving, helmetless riding, and mobile phone usage while driving.

New Traffic Penalties:

  • Drunken Driving: ₹10,000 fine and/or 6 months jail; ₹15,000 & 2 years for repeat offence.
  • No Helmet: ₹1,000 fine + 3-month licence suspension.
  • No Seatbelt: ₹1,000 fine.
  • Using Mobile While Driving: ₹5,000 fine.
  • No Valid Licence: ₹5,000 fine.
  • Triple Riding: ₹1,000 fine.
  • No Insurance: ₹2,000 fine, jail, or community service; ₹4,000 for repeat offence.
  • No Pollution Certificate: ₹10,000 fine, jail, or community service.
  • Dangerous Driving: ₹5,000 fine.
  • Blocking Emergency Vehicles: ₹10,000 fine.
  • Street Racing/Speeding: ₹5,000 fine.
  • Overloading: ₹20,000 fine.
  • Jumping Signals: ₹5,000 fine.
  • Juvenile Driving: ₹25,000 fine, 3 years jail, licence ban till 25.
