The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the Class 12 Physics exam on February 21, with students describing it as “moderately difficult.” Educators and subject experts evaluated the paper as well-structured, balancing conceptual depth and problem-solving.
The paper, worth 70 marks, consisted of five sections, all of which were mandatory. According to Thilak M, a physics educator at Jain International Residential School, Bengaluru, the exam presented a mix of direct and intricate questions. Topics like moving charges and magnetism required strong conceptual clarity, while modern physics was relatively easier. The two-mark questions served as a confidence booster, while five-mark ones demanded logical reasoning and multi-step problem-solving.
Tushar Goel from Silverline Prestige School, Ghaziabad, found the paper comprehensive, covering key syllabus areas through derivations, numericals, and conceptual queries. He noted that students couldn’t rely on selective preparation, as the distribution was broad.
Surender Puli of Vidyagyan School, Sitapur, remarked that Set 3 was particularly lengthy, with tricky MCQs and demanding three-mark questions. Meanwhile, student Geeta described the paper as moderate, expecting good marks.
Shiv Nadar School educators observed that time management was a challenge, with Set 3 being the most difficult. Some students struggled to complete the paper, while others noted the absence of expected questions from optics.
Additionally, Ragini Srivastava from Seth Anandram Jaipuria School highlighted that a few questions stemmed from the deleted syllabus, adding to the difficulty.
