Hubballi: The Dharwad administration is undertaking significant measures to enhance the district’s performance in the upcoming SSLC exams and maintain its ‘Vidyakashi’ status. Currently ranked 22nd in the state with a 72.67% pass rate, Dharwad aims to climb to the top position with a comprehensive action plan set to roll out in the coming weeks.
The plan includes a focused program to support students with lower learning abilities. Key strategies involve appointing nodal officers to monitor each school’s progress and establishing academic and monitoring committees to evaluate both student performance and teaching effectiveness. Deputy Commissioner Divya Prabhu highlighted, “We are committed to achieving top rankings by forming specialized committees to enhance learning and teaching quality.”
Two main programs will be introduced: the Passing and Scoring packages. The Passing package will provide targeted support to students struggling with basic concepts, involving additional coaching from teachers and experts. The Scoring package will focus on maximizing students’ marks by developing advanced skills in each subject.
Additionally, innovative programs such as Mane Paath, Oni Odu, and Odinmane will offer neighborhood-based coaching for low-income students who cannot afford private tuition. Unemployed graduates will be recruited to provide these coaching services.
Dr. Prabhu also mentioned that teachers who contribute to improved student performance will be recognized and honored. These initiatives aim to boost Dharwad’s educational outcomes and ensure better results in future SSLC exams.
