Intach Mangaluru Awards 'my Monument Search' Winners

The Mangaluru chapter of the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (Intach) recently hosted a certificate distribution ceremony for its ‘My Monument Search’ poster competition at the Kodialguthu Centre for Art and Culture. Organized by Intach’s Heritage Education and Communication Service (HECS) division in New Delhi, the competition aimed to foster cultural awareness among children.

Participants from seven schools in Mangaluru created posters depicting local heritage buildings, accompanied by captions and essays on preservation methods. Adit, a Class VII student from Canara Higher Primary School, Urwa, made history by winning the national award, earning a fully sponsored trip to Delhi to visit heritage sites with the HECS team.

Adithi from Vasudeva Kripa Vidya Mandira School, Bailoor, Udupi, and Avani C Kamath from St Aloysius Gonzaga School, Mangaluru, received regional awards, while H Poornendu Rao from Canara High School (Main) was honored at the chapter level. The event celebrated cultural exploration and education, highlighting the importance of preserving local heritage.
