Mangaluru: The National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal (NITK-Surathkal), has been tasked by the Centre to oversee online counselling for all northeastern states and Union Territories (UTs) through the Centralised Seat Allotment Board (CSAB) NEUT-2024. The counselling process will be chaired by the Director of NITK Surathkal.
Schedule and Process Overview
Candidates can register from June 17 to 24 and choose their preferred courses online from June 18 to July 1. The first round of seat allotment is scheduled for July 8, followed by the second round on July 22. A spot round will be conducted subsequently by the respective Directorate of Technical Education (DTEs) of participating states/UTs and NERIST Itanagar.
Aim and Objectives
The initiative aims to allocate seats in engineering, technology, architecture, and pharmacy courses across AICTE-approved institutions for students from eight northeastern states and five UTs. This program addresses the limited availability of professional education institutions in these regions.
Eligibility and Reservation
Eligibility criteria include a minimum of 45% (GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL) or 40% (SC/ST/PwD) in Class XII for engineering and technology courses, with additional criteria for pharmacy and architecture courses. Reservation policies follow guidelines specific to each state/UT.
