Mulky: An orientation programme on quality was organised by the Internal Quality Cell of Vijaya College on Thursday, November 20, 2025. The event aimed to introduce students to the values, practices and discipline associated with building a culture of quality in education and daily life.
Inauguration and dignitaries
The programme was inaugurated by Hemacharya, Director of Daijiworld Media Pvt. Ltd. and Managing Trustee of Ian Cares Foundation, who lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the beginning of the event.
Other dignitaries present included Vasu S. Poojary, President, Kanthu Sevegara Dharmachavadi, Bappanadu, and Ganesh Bhat, Senior IT Security Engineer at MRPL.
Insights on ‘quality for life’
Addressing faculty and students, Hemacharya spoke about the five etiquettes that form the core of “Quality for Life”. Through engaging anecdotes from his experiences at Sophia College Mumbai, Salalah, Muscat and Dubai, he highlighted how the idea of quality differs across cultures yet remains essential everywhere.
Chief guest Vasu S. Poojary recalled witnessing decades of discipline and peaceful student life around the college, noting that the campus ambience and environment continue to inspire the community.
Guest of honour Ganesh Bhat expressed gratitude to the Governing Council for inviting him and appreciated the institution’s dedication to student development.

Institutional perspectives and guidance
Prof. Venkatesh Bhat, Principal of Vijaya Degree College, briefed students on the academic options, facilities and support systems available. He stressed the importance of upgrading laboratories to match the standards of leading colleges.
Prof. Arun Kumar B, Principal of Vijaya PU College, encouraged students from various schools attending the orientation to adopt best practices in their daily activities and academic journey.
Chairman of the Governing Council, Suhas Hegde, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to providing quality education irrespective of religion, language or culture, and advised students to choose their courses wisely.
Felicitation and student participation
Alumni Hemacharya, Vasu Poojary and Ganesh Bhat were honoured with a peta, fruits, a memento and a booklet chronicling the history of the college.

PUC students played an active role in the programme:
