Mangaluru: Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Mangaluru, celebrated Sahyadri Carnival 2026 on April 17, 2026, with great enthusiasm, bringing together students from across Karnataka for a vibrant showcase of talent, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
The campus came alive with energetic participation, engaging activities, and a festive atmosphere, making the event a memorable experience for students and visitors alike.
Inauguration by distinguished guests
The carnival was inaugurated by Chief Guest Ms. Athmika Amin, Director of JV Group of Companies, along with Alumni Guest Ms. Raksha P. Chilimbi (MBA 2020–22), Audit Associate at KPMG GDC.
The occasion was graced by Trustee Mr. Devadas Hegde, Principal Dr. S. S. Injaganeri, Vice Principal and Controller of Examinations Dr. Sudheer Shetty, Director of MBA Programme Dr. Vishal Samartha, Dean of Strategic Planning Prof. Ramesh K. G., and Programme Coordinator Prof. Anirudh Bhat.
Dr. Vishal Samartha welcomed the gathering, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting. Prof. Anirudh Bhat presented an overview of the carnival, highlighting its flagship events — Whiz Quiz, Marketverse, and Student Corner.
Strong participation from across Karnataka
The event witnessed participation from over 600 students from various colleges across the state who qualified for the grand finale. The carnival served as a platform for students to demonstrate their knowledge, creativity, and entrepreneurial skills.

In her address, Ms. Athmika Amin encouraged students to step out of their comfort zones, enhance problem-solving abilities, and make the most of networking opportunities. Alumni Ms. Raksha Chilimbi highlighted the importance of confidence, communication, and experiential learning in shaping successful careers.
Vision for academic growth
In his presidential address, Principal Dr. S. S. Injaganeri spoke about Sahyadri’s rapid growth and its vision of becoming a deemed-to-be university. He also announced a consultancy Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Christ University, Bengaluru, to introduce new academic programmes such as BBA, BCA, and MCA.
The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by student coordinator Vishaka Pai.
Engaging events and vibrant stalls
The Sahyadri Whiz Quiz, conducted by Quiz Master Rakshith Shetty, created an engaging and competitive environment for participants. The carnival also featured more than 20–25 stalls, including those run by companies and students, offering food, products, and interactive experiences that attracted large crowds.
The Student Corner added an entrepreneurial dimension, showcasing innovative ideas and business ventures by students.
Winners of Sahyadri Whiz Quiz
At the culmination of the quiz competition, six teams comprising three members each qualified for the finals. The winners were:
- First Place: Thrisha Vidya College of Commerce & Management, Katpadi – ₹25,000
- Second Place: SDM, Ujire – ₹15,000
- Third Place: MAPS College, Mangaluru – ₹10,000



The remaining three teams received consolation prizes of ₹4,000 each. In the Student Corner category, Just Tails from Nitte Swarosh College secured the top prize.
A celebration of innovation and enterprise
Sahyadri Carnival 2026 successfully blended academic competition, industry interaction, and student entrepreneurship, creating a holistic learning experience. The event highlighted the importance of experiential learning and collaboration in shaping future professionals.
