Mangaluru: The Department of Business Administration at Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Mangaluru, is set to organise Sahyadri Carnival 2026 on April 17, 2026, promising a vibrant celebration of talent, innovation, and entrepreneurship among students from across Karnataka.

The much-anticipated carnival aims to provide a dynamic platform for students to demonstrate their creativity, business acumen, and competitive spirit through a series of engaging events and activities.

Three major events to headline the carnival

The carnival will feature three key events — Sahyadri Whiz Quiz, Marketverse, and Student Corner — each designed to encourage participation and experiential learning.

The Sahyadri Whiz Quiz has already generated significant academic engagement, with preliminary rounds conducted across 40 colleges in regions such as Bhatkal, Brahmavara, Karwar, Coorg, Puttur, Sullia, Bantwal, and nearby areas. More than 4,000 students participated in the preliminaries, out of which 500 students have qualified for the grand finale to be held during the carnival.

Winners of the quiz will receive attractive cash prizes, with ₹25,000 for the first prize, ₹15,000 for the second prize, and ₹10,000 for the third prize. Additionally, three teams will be awarded consolation prizes of ₹4,000 each.

Marketverse to offer real-world business exposure

Marketverse, another highlight of the carnival, will provide students with hands-on experience in marketing and business operations through active industry participation. Around 15 reputed companies, including Kaveri Tata Motors, Renault, Ather, Polar Bear, Laziz Pizza, Bajaj, and KTM, will set up stalls on campus.

MBA students will take charge of managing these stalls, gaining practical exposure to sales strategies, customer engagement, and brand promotion. This initiative bridges the gap between classroom learning and real-world business practices.

Student Corner promotes entrepreneurship

The Student Corner will further enhance the entrepreneurial spirit of the event by featuring 15 stalls managed by students from various colleges. These stalls will offer a diverse range of products, including food items, fashion accessories, handmade crafts, lifestyle products, games, and creative merchandise.

A special competition will be held to recognise the stall generating the highest revenue, encouraging participants to apply innovative business ideas and strategies.

Distinguished guests to attend inauguration

The carnival will be inaugurated by Ms. Athmika Amin, Director of JV Group of Companies, who will serve as the Chief Guest. Ms. Raksha P. Chilimbi, an alumna of the MBA batch 2020–22 and Audit Associate 2 at KPMG GDC, will attend as the Alumni Guest.

The event will also be graced by Trustees Mr. Devadas Hegde and Mr. Jagannath Chowta, along with Dr. S. S. Injaganeri, Principal; Dr. Sudheer Shetty, Vice Principal and Controller of Examinations; and Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director of the MBA programme.

Faculty coordinators, including Prof. Anirudh Bhat (Programme Convenor – Sahyadri Carnival), Prof. Ramesh K. G. (Sahyadri Whiz Quiz), Prof. Varun C. S. (Marketverse), and Prof. Monisha Shetty (Student Corner), will oversee the successful execution of the event.

A celebration of creativity and enterprise

Sahyadri Carnival 2026 is expected to draw large participation and create a lively atmosphere filled with innovation, entertainment, and entrepreneurial energy. From engaging quiz competitions to vibrant stalls and industry interactions, the carnival offers a holistic experience for students.

The organisers have extended an open invitation to all to be part of the event and witness a celebration of youthful creativity, talent, and enterprise.
