Mangaluru: The St Aloysius College Alumni Association (SACAA), Mangaluru, has won the Social Champions Award at the 11th Federation of Jesuit Alumni Associations of India (JAAI) Congress held in Goa from February 6 to 8, 2026, at the Salgaokar Institute of International Hospitality Management.
Recognition for Prison Outreach
The award was conferred in recognition of SACAA’s outreach initiatives conducted for the transformation and rehabilitation of prison inmates at the Mangalore District Prison. The programmes were organised in association with St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) and the District Legal Services Authority between 2023 and June 2025.
The initiatives focused on guiding inmates toward personal growth, dignity, and reintegration into society after their release, reflecting the Jesuit mission of social justice and human empowerment.
