Mangaluru: Ms Vidya Kumari, Assistant Professor at the School of Information Technology, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), has been awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree by Mangalore University.
She received the doctorate for her research titled “Biometric Encoding and Authentication Protocols for Secure Digital Payment,” focusing on enhancing security mechanisms in digital transactions.

The research addresses critical challenges in biometric authentication and digital payment security, contributing to the development of safer and more reliable digital financial systems.
Her work was carried out under the guidance of Dr B. H. Shekar, Senior Professor, Department of Computer Science, Mangalore University.
Academic and personal background
Ms Vidya Kumari is the daughter of Mr U. Ramesh Achar and late Mrs K. Pushpa, and the wife of Mr Chandrashekar Santhosh Kumar.
She is also the daughter-in-law of Mr G. Gopala Acharya and late Mrs Shashikala, and mother of G. Samvid Acharya.
