Mangaluru: St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru, hosted a grand felicitation ceremony on April 18, 2026, to honour the outstanding achievements of NCC cadets from the Army, Navy, and Air Force Junior and Senior Wings. The event, held at the LCRI Hall, celebrated cadets who represented the Karnataka & Goa Directorate at prestigious national-level camps.
The ceremony recognised the cadets’ dedication, discipline, and leadership, while also acknowledging the support of their parents, who attended the event to share in their children’s achievements.
Dignitaries grace the occasion
The programme was organised by the NCC Mangalore Group and was graced by Chief Guest Air Commodore S. B. Arunkumar, VSM, Deputy Director General, NCC Directorate Karnataka & Goa.
Rev. Dr. Melwyn D’Cunha SJ, Pro Vice Chancellor of St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), was also present, along with faculty members and NCC officials.
Inspirational address to cadets
In his keynote address, Air Commodore S. B. Arunkumar inspired the cadets to continue striving for excellence and to uphold the values of discipline, hard work, and patriotism.
He emphasised that these qualities are essential for success not only in the armed forces but also in all walks of life. He also acknowledged the significant role played by parents in nurturing disciplined and focused individuals.

The ceremony featured the presentation of mementoes to both male and female cadets in recognition of their exemplary performance at national-level camps.
