Mangaluru: St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru, is set to host the postponed Aloysian Fest 2026, a one-day national-level fest for pre-university students, on Monday, August 31, 2026, at 9 am at the LF Rasquinha Hall, LCRI Block.
Organised under the theme “Nurturing Talent, Celebrating Excellence”, the fest is expected to bring together students from pre-university colleges across India. The event will provide participants with opportunities to demonstrate their academic knowledge, creativity, technical abilities, communication skills and cultural talents through a wide range of competitions.
The fest will be inaugurated in the presence of distinguished guests and university dignitaries. Sharan Chilimbi, content creator, will be the Chief Guest, while Athish S Shetty, recipient of the National Award as a Child Artist, will be the Guest of Honour. The inaugural programme will be presided over by Rev. Dr Praveen Martis, SJ, Vice Chancellor, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University).
Festival of Fests features 23 competitions
A major attraction of Aloysian Fest 2026 will be the Festival of Fests, featuring 23 academic, technology and creative competitions designed to test participants’ knowledge, problem-solving abilities, teamwork and creativity.
The events are divided into different categories, allowing students from various academic backgrounds to participate in competitions aligned with their interests.
The General/Open to All category will feature competitions such as General Quiz, Debate, Mock Press, Product Launch, Fashion Show, Sports Quiz, Reels Making, Photo and Videography, and Cooking Without Fire.
Students from the Commerce stream will have the opportunity to participate in Management Roadies, Business Manager, Business Quiz, Shark Tank, Best Management Team, Marketing and Corporate Walk.
The Science category will feature Science Rangoli, Science Standpoint, Science Escape Room, Synapse (Science Quiz) and Science Exhibition. Meanwhile, students from both Commerce and Science streams can participate in competitions including IT Manager, Coding and Gaming.
The wide range of events is expected to give students an opportunity to move beyond conventional classroom learning and demonstrate practical skills in areas such as business, technology, communication, media and creative expression.
Cultural competitions to showcase creativity
Alongside the academic and technical competitions, the fest will also feature a Cultural Fest, offering students a platform to showcase their artistic and cultural talents.
The cultural segment will include Bharatanatyam, Folk Song (Solo), Mehendi, Trashion, Wealth Out of Waste and Theme-Based Performance.
The organisers have also included Science Exhibition as part of the listed fest activities, providing students with an opportunity to present innovative ideas and scientific concepts.
The combination of academic, technology, creative and cultural competitions is expected to make the fest an engaging platform for students from different disciplines and interests.
Valedictory programme to be held at 3.30 pm
The valedictory programme will be held on the same day at 3.30 pm at the LF Rasquinha Hall.
Dion Monteiro, Director, Rohan Corporation, will be the Chief Guest for the valedictory programme. The event will once again be presided over by Rev. Dr Praveen Martis, SJ, Vice Chancellor, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University).
Prizes and mementoes for the individual events will be distributed during the valedictory ceremony. The college that delivers the best overall performance will be awarded the Overall Championship Trophy, while the second-best performing institution will receive the Runner-Up Trophy.
The awards are expected to add to the competitive spirit of the fest while recognising the achievements of participating students and institutions.
National platform for pre-university students
With participation expected from pre-university colleges across India, Aloysian Fest 2026 is positioned as more than a campus-level competition. The organisers aim to create a national platform where young students can interact with peers from different institutions and showcase their abilities across multiple fields.
The theme, “Nurturing Talent, Celebrating Excellence,” reflects the organisers’ focus on identifying and encouraging talent among pre-university students. The diverse competitions also provide participants with opportunities to develop skills in teamwork, leadership, presentation, creativity, critical thinking and innovation.
