Bengaluru: The School of Information Technology, St Joseph’s University, successfully organised the International Conference on Current Trends in Information Technology (ICCTIT-2025) on March 10 and 11, 2025. The two-day event brought together researchers, academicians, and industry professionals to explore the latest advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, automation, and digital transformation. With nearly 150 scholars presenting research papers, the conference served as a significant platform for knowledge exchange and networking.

Inaugural session and keynote speeches

The conference commenced with a prayer, university anthem, and a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony.

  • Dr. Annie Syrien, Convenor of the conference, delivered the welcome address, stressing the importance of academic collaboration in shaping IT’s future.
  • Dr. Ronald Mascarenhas, Acting Vice-Chancellor, spoke about the synergy between computer science and chemistry, highlighting AI-driven simulations in drug discovery and material sciences.
  • Ms. Regina Mathias, Pro-Vice Chancellor, emphasised the importance of research-driven discussions in academia.
  • Chief Guest Mr. Thandava Popuri, Senior Director at Dell Technologies, delivered a keynote on AI, Machine Learning (ML), and industry trends, discussing AI’s impact on healthcare, cybersecurity, and automation.

  • Dr. Ruban (St. Aloysius University, Mangaluru) delivered a talk on “Advances in Healthcare Technology – Research and Reality Insights into AI.”
  • Dr. Dileep Kumar (Vice-Chancellor, Hansard University, Nigeria) spoke on “Industrial Revolution and Technology Advancements,” focusing on AI, IoT, and automation.

Valedictory session and recognitions

The valedictory session featured industry and academic leaders discussing technology’s future impact.

  • Fr. Denzil Lobo, Dean, School of IT, highlighted the conference’s academic and industrial significance.
  • Dr. Srinivas Katharguppe, Chief Guest, stressed the role of research in shaping IT’s future.
  • Mr. Terrence Andrade, Senior Production Operations at AMD, Santa Clara, USA, shared insights on emerging technologies in production and manufacturing.

The event concluded with awards for outstanding research in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and IT advancements. The university thanked all speakers, participants, and sponsors for making ICCTIT-2025 a resounding success.
