Pune police have launched an inquiry into an alleged phone conversation circulating online, where a caller purportedly demands ₹40 lakh in return for an MPSC exam question paper.

The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) reassured candidates that all exam papers remain intact under stringent security. Officials cautioned aspirants against falling prey to such fraudulent schemes.

Following the emergence of the viral audio, MPSC formally lodged a complaint with the Pune Police Commissioner. Authorities have vowed strict legal action against those attempting to mislead candidates.

During a press briefing in Navi Mumbai, MPSC Secretary Dr. Suvara Kharat emphasized that all necessary steps have been taken to ensure the examination process remains fair and transparent. She urged students not to trust baseless rumors of leaks.

The commission confirmed that question papers are stored under tight surveillance, with no possibility of unauthorized access. Officials suspect some individuals are attempting to exploit students by falsely promising access to the exam.

Candidates receiving suspicious calls or messages regarding leaked papers have been urged to file a complaint via email. The MPSC Group-B (Non-Gazetted) Preliminary Examination 2024 is highly competitive, with nearly 2.86 lakh applicants expected to participate.

Authorities have assured that the test will be conducted under the highest security measures, eliminating any scope for malpractice.
