A farewell celebration turned controversial in Surat after 35 Class 12 students from a prestigious school paraded in nearly 35 luxury cars, performing stunts and setting off firecrackers. The police have since detained 12 of the 26 identified vehicles, as per The Times of India.

The February 7 event gained attention after a video of the convoy, set to the Bollywood film Animal’s soundtrack, went viral. The students, dressed in blazers, filmed their journey using drones and cameras, sparking outrage over reckless behavior.

Authorities swiftly responded, citing multiple traffic violations. “The law will take its course, and appropriate action will be taken,” said DCP Amita Vanani. The Pal police visited the school for further details, while founder Vardan Kabra stated that students were advised against bringing personal vehicles.

DCP Rakesh Barot confirmed that 12 cars were confiscated, with more seizures pending. While strict action is being taken, officials are proceeding cautiously to avoid affecting students ahead of their board exams in April-May.
